Over the last few years, families throughout the state of Ohio have started to see the advantages of switching to an online school like QDA. This award-winning institution gives students the opportunity to succeed outside of the traditional brick-and-mortar environment. Regardless of whether children are having trouble finding transportation, socializing with peers, or understanding the concepts being taught in class, QDA can provide them with the means to continue on their academic path. In fact, K-12 schooling through QDA has even proven to be a suitable alternative for those students who are placed in special education programs. The Special Services Center at QDA is given the highest priority, allowing families throughout Summit County, Ohio; Stark County, Ohio; Cuyahoga County, Ohio; and beyond to obtain the support they need.

Since QDA is primarily known as an online school, there are some people who are unsure as to whether this Ohio-based organization could address the needs of students with disabilities. While it’s true that most of the students enrolled in K-12 schooling through QDA are simply looking for the schedule flexibility and one-on-one attention that traditional schools are unable to provide, this institution is also committed to helping those with special needs. The Special Services Center at QDA “monitors to (1) ensure that the special education policies and procedures are in accordance with all federal, state and local mandates; (2) design, implement and evaluate appropriate programs for students with disabilities; and (3) provide technical assistance and staff development opportunities.”

Each student enrolled in this online school is assigned to an Instructional Supervisor that handles all school-related issues and keeps in regular contact to ensure academic success. Families throughout Stark County, Summit County, Cuyahoga County, and beyond that have children with special needs can look forward to receiving the same individual attention and support from QDA’s Special Services Center.

“Quaker Digital Academy provides special education services to those students who have received assessment and then are identified as students with disability in meeting the criteria in one of the thirteen disability categories. Those students identified as students with disabilities are served by the education team and receive individual education programs on an annual basis in order to attain education goals and realize their individual success in the educational arena.”

It’s clear that QDA goes above and beyond when it comes to their students, which is why so many families have enrolled their children in K-12 schooling through this Ohio-based institution. Parents who currently have their children placed in special education programs at other schools throughout the Stark County, Ohio; Summit County, Ohio; or Cuyahoga County, Ohio areas may be interested to learn more about the Special Services Center at QDA and how it may better suit their needs.
